Cristiano Ronaldo, Euro 2016 champion, has edged out his arch-rival, Lionel Messi, Barcelona star, as the world’s richest footballer.
According to Forbes magazine Celebrity 100 list, showing the richest celebrities in 2016, Ronaldo is the fourth richest celebrity in the world for 2016.
To form the Celebrity 100, Forbes evaluates front-of-the-camera talent across the entire entertainment world, considering pretax income from June to June.
Fees for agents, managers and lawyers are not deducted. Figures are said to be based on numbers from Nielsen, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders and many of the stars themselves.
