Disney’s The Lion King has continued its box office supremacy, racing past The Avengers to become the seventh highest-grossing movie of all time.
The remake of the 1994 classic has currently made $1,564.5 billion, while The Avengers grossed $1,518.8 billion.
The Lion King (2019) earned low reviews from movie critics who said it was inferior to the earlier version as it had more of a visual spectacle than a plot-driven story. But they praised its hyper-realistic rendering of the animals and their environment.
