Veteran TV and theatre actress, Shaleen Surtie Richards passes on at age 66.
The star is best known for her roles in Fiela se Kind (Fiela’s Child), Egoli: Place Of Gold, Supersterre, Loitering in Jozi, Rockville and Generations.
The news of her death was confirmed by a representative from Elysian Management.
The details of her death is yet to be known but more news will be released after meeting with Surtie-Richards’ family.
The representative added that they were in a state of shock and were still processing the news.
While Surtie-Richards was known for her decades of work in the performing arts, she qualified as a nursery school teacher and taught children before making her debut as an actress.
More recently, Surtie-Richards starred in the kykNet series Arendsvlei.
